What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a revolutionary and FDA-approved biostimulatory filler (similar to Radiesse and Bellafill) that stimulates YOUR natural collagen synthesis.

What distinguishes Sculptra from others is that It is created to focus on the root cause of aging rather than merely addressing the symptoms—which means you may obtain more natural-looking results that last 3-5 times longer than standard fillers and toxins such,,,,.

What is Sculptra made of, and how does it work?

Sculptra is constructed of biocompatible, biodegradable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which interacts with your body to promote collagen creation and progressively increase its production over time.

Sculptra, unlike its hyaluronic acid-based competitors, provides your body with the resources it needs to counteract the signs of aging over time. Once injected, Sculptra helps rebuild the inner structure of the skin (mainly through fibroblasts) and increases natural collagen synthesis over time, improving skin texture, correcting deep lines and wrinkles, and increasing face volume.

Are you a good candidate for Sculptra?

Sculptra is likely an excellent option to add youthful volume to your face, correct deep lines and facial wrinkles, or have a softer, dewy complexion. The long-lasting, natural-looking effects look stunning on everyone, 24 or 82.

And, although we love how Sculptra looks on almost everyone, we strongly suggest it to anyone who wishes to restore volume lost due to age or weight loss, give fullness to a thin face, or revive and update their appearance WITHOUT seeming like they’ve had work done.

What areas can you treat with Sculptra?

The FDA’s recent expansion of Sculptra’s clearance for use on fine lines and wrinkles offers more adaptability and a wider variety of treatments. Some examples are:

  • Adding volume and richness to hollow cheekbones and thin faces
  • Improving the appearance of face creases, wrinkles, and lines
  • Deep wrinkles and lines on the face and neck (hello, smile lines!)
  • I am slowly adding volume to the temples, cheekbones, chin, and jawline.
  • Rejuvenating the overall texture and tone of the skin
  • Increasing the effectiveness of microneedling, RF, and laser therapies, such as
  • Possibly enhancing the impact of other injectable therapies like as

How many Sculptra treatments will you need?

This varies depending on age, objectives, and individual requirements, but we usually suggest 2-4 Sculptra treatments spaced at least 4 weeks apart for optimal results.

How long does Sculptra last?

Sculptra has a lot of staying power in the realm of dermal fillers. Most of our customers see effects that last around 25 months, but others experience skin-reviving advantages that last up to three years!

Of course, outcomes vary depending on various variables such as age, metabolism, and how quickly your body breaks down injectables. Still, Sculptra will stay longer than other injectables and skincare treatments.

How much does Sculptra cost?

A vial of Sculptra costs $800 at The Bergen County Sculptra (as of this blog’s publication date – check for the most up-to-current price). Purchasing two saves you $100, and buying four saves you even more money (20% off).

How do I prepare for a Sculptra procedure?

Follow these helpful pre-session suggestions for stunning outcomes with minor pain.

2 weeks before Sculptra:

  • We do not advocate obtaining Sculptra if you have had dental treatment or immunizations within two weeks of your intended operation. If this timetable does not work, Please contact us to reschedule your appointment!
  • Expect mild to moderate redness and swelling.
  •  For 48-72 hours and minor bruising for 2-5 days on average, so plan your post-treatments appropriately.

1 week before Sculptra:

  • Over-the-counter blood thinners such as aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, fish oil, Aleve, and others should be avoided (unless otherwise directed by a medical practitioner).
  • St. John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, alcohol, and Vitamin E are all out.
  • These techniques can assist you in avoiding extensive bruising!

2 days before Sculptra:

  • The use of topical skincare treatments such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, and Glycolic Acid (essentially any “anti-aging” products) must end. (If you’ve already done this, contact your doctor to ensure you’re still clear.)
  • Think about taking Arnica. Although not required, this might lessen the risk of bruising.
  • It’s not a big deal if you still need to follow these instructions, but they are wise advice!

24 hours before Sculptra:

  • Once again, avoid consuming alcoholic drinks for at least 24 hours before your visit. This will maintain your body healthy so that you can benefit from Sculptra and help avoid more bleeding and bruising.

The day of your treatment:

Arrive for your appointment with a face free of makeup and clean.

What do recuperation and downtime look like?

For the most part, Sculptra has minimal downtime. You could feel swollen and uncomfortable for two to three days, but that should be all.

Who trains the TL R team?

Every injector on the TLR team (Denver & Boulder) received personalized training by November 2022. Another of our injectors received training (see the video below). You can be sure that when you get treatment from one of our skilled and highly qualified injectors, you’re in (super) safe hands.

Will I bruise from Sculptra?

Bruising may happen with any injection therapy. If Sculptra is injected with a needle, you should prepare for bruising, but it’s far less probable if a cannula is used.

Does Sculptra hurt?

Sculptra injections include a potent numbing ingredient to ease any pain. To ensure that the procedure is as pain-free and comfortable as possible, we apply a potent numbing gel (the good stuff) to your skin before starting.

Even though everyone reacts to pain differently, most patients tell us that their injections were far more effective than anticipated.

What are the risks of Sculptra?

Like injectable fillers, Sculptra has specific hazards, such as the possibility of bruising, swelling, and discomfort at the injection site, as well as soreness and redness. Less frequent conditions include discoloration and lumps beneath the skin that are visible when touched.

You may optimize results and reduce risks by getting Sculptra from a skilled injector (we have RNs, NPs, & PAs here at our TLR locations) and according to our pre- and post-treatment guidelines!

Can you get Sculptra while pregnant or breastfeeding?

This (and other injectable therapies) are best used before or after your baby is born and breastfeeding since no trials demonstrate safety or effectiveness while pregnant or nursing.

What questions should I ask before getting Sculptra?

It is crucial to ask your provider whether they are an experienced, certified, trained nurse, PA, MD, or NP injector. Has your injector obtained training from an authorized Sculptra trainer? This is another crucial consideration. Receiving your Sculptra treatments from a professional who has the training and experience necessary to deliver you the results you desire safely may be the difference between coping with a catastrophe and getting excellent results.

Are you considering making a reservation, nevertheless, or needing care today?

To be sure you’re a good candidate for Sculptra, schedule the procedure, and consultation will still be conducted on the day of the system (those who are not candidates are very uncommon).

Here are some excellent questions you may wish to ask your healthcare provider:

  • What type of outcomes might I anticipate?
  • Am I too old or young to get Sculptra?
  • What conditions may Sculptra treat?
  • What drugs may I take to help me recover?
  • Would a different filler or procedure provide better results for me?
  • What possible dangers and difficulties do I need to be aware of?
  • What number of Sculptra sessions would I require?
  • What safety measures should I take after my treatment?
